Wool workshop in Sarlabous in October 2026 | Hautes-Pyrénées
In October 2026, we invite you to discover a Wool workshop in Sarlabous, a craft activity that’s the perfect way to enjoy your stay in the Hautes-Pyrénées in a different way. On 6 October, the Moulin des Baronnies is running a workshop on making felted soap using wool from the Pyrenees. Since our unique accommodation options in the Hautes-Pyrénées, this outing is a wonderful opportunity to discover local craftsmanship whilst enjoying the autumnal atmosphere of our region.
‘Le Chant de l’eau’ exhibition at L’Escaladieu in October 2026
In October 2026, the’Escaladieu Abbey is hosting the exhibition The Song of Water, dedicated to water, its movements and its role in the landscape. This cultural outing offers the chance to discover the works of thirteen contemporary artists in a remarkable historic monument. From the Cabanes du Lizon, you can easily combine this visit with a break in the heart of the countryside in the Hautes-Pyrénées. A great idea for an activity to plan during the All Saints’ Day holidays.

There are a number of lightly travelled routes, suitable for all levels of cyclist, so you can explore the region with complete peace of mind.
The Vélosud (V81), a signposted route linking Hendaye (64) to Collioure (66), passes less than 2 km from Les Cabanes du Lizon. It also crosses the Vallée de la Baïse cycle route (V82), offering even more opportunities for exploring and discovering the region.
The Labastide caves
This «prehisto-ludic» park will take young and old on a journey back to 15,000 BC. Discover this green valley where water has taken care of the scenery.

Just 15 minutes from Bernadets-Dessus and our perched cabins in the Pyrenees, Take a break from nature with a 2-hour walk around Lac de l'Arrêt-Darré. Accessible and pleasant in all seasons, the path along the banks invites you to discover an unspoilt environment, with peaceful water, green hills and typical hillside views.
The lake is an ideal place to recharge your batteries, take a stroll with family or friends and enjoy the peace and quiet. Fishing enthusiasts can sit on the banks and enjoy a moment of relaxation as the water flows by. Hiking enthusiasts will love the well-developed trail, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a more challenging walk, depending on the pace you choose. Mountain bikers will also find the terrain ideal for discovery.

We loved the fact that everything was locally sourced, which gave the place even more authenticity. Special mention must go to the Nordic bath, a real moment of relaxation under the stars, and the view of horses and the Pyrenees the next morning!
