An artistic immersion just a stone's throw from our perched cabins: discover Le chant de l'eau at the Abbaye de l'Escaladieu
Located just a stone's throw away, only 20 minutes from our perched cabins in the Pyrenees, Today, the Abbaye de l'Escaladieu is presenting a captivating and poetic exhibition: «The Song of Water».
Through the work of contemporary artists such as Léa Barbazanges, Hicham Berrada, Mathilde Caylou and Nicolas Floc'h, this exhibition invites visitors to take a sensitive and immersive walk around water. Water, a vital, elusive and fascinating element, becomes a source of artistic inspiration, oscillating between matter and abstraction.
Escaladieu Abbey, situated at the confluence of the Luz and Arros rivers, has always been closely linked to water. Essential to monastic life, it was central to the organisation of the Cistercian abbeys, for both practical and spiritual reasons.
The exhibition follows in this footsteps, highlighting this heritage while offering a contemporary interpretation of this natural element in constant transformation.
This outing is the perfect opportunity to combine culture and relaxation.
Cycling in the Hautes-Pyrénées
There are a number of lightly travelled routes, suitable for all levels of cyclist, so you can explore the region with complete peace of mind.
The Vélosud (V81), a signposted route linking Hendaye (64) to Collioure (66), passes less than 2 km from Les Cabanes du Lizon. It also crosses the Vallée de la Baïse cycle route (V82), offering even more opportunities for exploring and discovering the region.
If you don't have your own bike, E Vasion Pyrénées hires out eclectic vintage-style electric bikes, perfect for exploring the Pyrenean countryside in total freedom.

Don't miss out on a visit to this castle, built in the 12th century and completed in the 14th by the famous Gaston FŒBUS, whose restoration has been a remarkable success. Just 15 minutes from Bernadets-Dessus and our perched cabins in the Pyrenees, Take a break from nature with a 2-hour walk around Lac de l'Arrêt-Darré. Accessible and pleasant in all seasons, the path along the banks invites you to discover an unspoilt environment, with peaceful water, green hills and typical hillside views.
The lake is an ideal place to recharge your batteries, take a stroll with family or friends and enjoy the peace and quiet. Fishing enthusiasts can sit on the banks and enjoy a moment of relaxation as the water flows by. Hiking enthusiasts will love the well-developed trail, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a more challenging walk, depending on the pace you choose. Mountain bikers will also find the terrain ideal for discovery.
For fans of thrills and fun in the great outdoors, the’Accrobranche de l'Arrêt-Darré offers a range of tree courses suitable for young and old alike. Tyrolean traverses, suspension bridges and a variety of workshops are the perfect complement to a day at the lake.

We spent a magical night at Les Cabanes du Lizon, in La Grange, and everything was perfect! We were completely charmed by the cosy atmosphere, the meticulous decor and the attention to detail. We loved the fact that everything was locally sourced, which gave the place even more authenticity. Special mention must go to the Nordic bath, a real moment of relaxation under the stars, and the view of horses and the Pyrenees the next morning!
